A New Promoter With Possible Ties to "Awesome Penny Stocks"

Ever since I actively began trading stock promotions on the OTC market, I have made it my mission to know which promoters are worth following. In my early days of trading, there were plenty to choose from - Awesome Penny Stocks, Pennypic, Best Damn Penny Stocks, Stock Market Authority, and Bull Exchange leading the way. Unfortunately, within the last two years many of these promoters have died out, leaving us with Stock Tips as the only promoter that could generate volume and move stocks. Despite the dying OTC market, I've continued to track promoters hoping that a new one would surface and make things a bit more active again. While there is still a long way to go until I'd consider this promoter "Effective," I believe I've found a group worth monitoring as they could very well be connected to some former "Awesome Penny Stocks" promoters.

One of the methods I use to find promoters is simple enough - I use various search engines and input keywords such as "Hot Penny Stocks" to see which promoters are spending money on advertising their brand. Below is an image of a Google search. Mote the ads at the top and on the side of the page:

Every time I see a new website advertising, I sign up to it in a throw-away email account. That way, if my stock scanner ever finds an inexplicably active OTC stock, I can simply search my email to see if one of these promoters is sending out emails on it. Even better, I can see which sites are emailing on the same ticker to figure out which sites may be connected.

Around the end of August, I saw the first of a few unfamiliar websites starting to advertise. As usual, I signed up to the sites and simply waited for the emails to start arriving. Today, I received the first pick from many of these sites, GLRKF. Through a combination of searching my email, and running reverse IP domain checks (another good way to find connected websites), I compiled the following list of websites that I believe to be the same promoter behind GLRKF:

finestpennystocks.com
smartstockchoices.com
thebestofthemarket.com
stocksthatsoar.com
smartstockwinners.com
mysoaringpennystocks.com
bestamericanstocks.com
stocktipmagazine.com
elitepennystock.com
elitespennystock.com
wallstmagazine.com
qualitypennystocks.com
pennystockrepublic.com
stockstrategysecrets.com
equitiesthatsoar.com
poisedtosoar.com

So on to the question that I'm sure many of you are asking - why do I think these websites have ties to Awesome Penny Stocks? Well, here are a few factors:

  • Their aggressive advertising of some of these websites reminds me of the way some APS sites used to advertise.
  • GLRKF was promoted back in June by APS-connected website pennystocks.com (now offline)
  • qualitypennystocks.com is a domain that used to be connected to APS (Although this could be coincidence as ownership could have changed hands.)
  • elitepennystock.com started emailing about GLRKF on 10/27/2014. They spammed every single one of my email addresses that I had registered to APS sites, meaning they likely obtained their mailing list from an old APS list.
  • pennystocks.de just started promoting GLRKF last week on the German market. For those of you who are not familiar with this site, it is an old APS site that pumped some of their former picks such as TAGG, SWVI, and others to the German markets. So it is very likely that whoever controls pennystocks.de is also involved with these new websites.
So does this mean that Awesome Penny Stocks is back??? Not so fast. Even if these websites are connected, that doesn't necessarily mean that we can expect promotions even close to comparable to what Awesome Penny Stocks was capable of in their prime. By the time they retired and took (most of) their remaining sites offline, they were already a shell of their former selves. Here is a great article on Promotion Stock Secrets about the end of Awesome Penny Stocks, and it's extremely unlikely that any of the masterminds behind the original site are still involved due to their various legal troubles.

The question becomes who took over, and how effective can they be? Just as Stock Tips became stronger with each of their picks (until the PGFY halt), these new websites have the opportunity to build their brand and do the same thing. I, for one, will not be trading GLRKF or any of their future picks until they have proven themselves first. Currently, GLRKF volume is pathetic and barely tradeable anyway, which makes sense since few people would want to buy a stock being pushed by a new and unknown promoter.

If GLRKF can be a multiday success and trade decent volume, we may see increased interest in the next pick from this group. If they put out several duds in a row, it's unlikely that this promoter amounts to much, at least in the near future. Whether or not we have a new major promoter, only time will tell.

  1. I checked out some of their sites and they are claiming they they ran up a couple of companies that never were at the price they are claiming. Some may go back 5 years since they were that price. I thought that was something. GLRKF is having a small run right now and I am wondering why, it seems like old news on their headlines.

Something I found in there (unusually elaborate) disclaimer:

IMPORTANT NOTICE AND DISCLAIMER: Capital Burmese Publications has a $75,000 USD advertising production budget as of October 20, 2014 in an effort to build industry and investor awareness. Any funds leftover after expenses for research, overhead, advertising and public relations related to Glenmark Capital Corp. (TRADING SYMBOL: GLRKF) will be considered profit. Entities related to Third Party Payor may hold shares in GLRKF and are likely to sell those shares. Any such sales of GLRKF common stock will affect the value of your shares (negatively). LOL they are admitting that there may be a 3rd party that will sell into the buyers. Nice.

    1. Oh yeah don't pay attention to the "pick history" on a promotion site ever, they lie about everything! Only trust what you see for yourself after tracking their picks independently for a while

    2. I think the new AwesomePennyStocks website has been bought by the outfit that runs StockTips. The one with Mike Statler. Just a hunch, though.

  2. Anyway, thank you for the heads up and investigative work. I am keeping and eye on this little guy.

  3. Hey Tim,
great blog - really nice and helpful Infos and Tips. I read it twice and was thinking about starting to long OTC pumps in their early stage - being promoted or just showing significant vol & price action. Just like you did when you started trading.

In this post you are speaking about the "dying OTC market". Do you think that there are still chances to grow a small account significantly following this strategie by only trading OTC pumps this way?

    1. It's definitely still possible, but it would take much longer now than it used to because we're only getting one major promo every couple of months instead of the 3-4 per month we were seeing back in 2011/2012. You just have to be patient and pick your spots. That's part of the reason I'm hoping these new promoters are for real, we could really use another!

    2. Thanks for the quick response :)
I hope so too, nevertheless looking at my watchlist from scanning OTC stocks using the criteria you provided in one of your earlier blog posts,
some of them look really interesting for me regarding the chart and volume.

      For example: GBLX, MNGGF, CBIS

Dont know if they are being promoted or not, but just looking at the chart and volumes the last days these might be potential canditates for hugh runups (just my newbie view), dispite the fact that GBLX and CBIS allready made good gains the last days.

In case you are interested you can watch at the charts of these three and give me a quick statement of whether or not these would be considerable plays for me or you, or if im completely on the wrong track :)

    3. Definitely on the right track when it comes to using a scanner to find the most liquid plays! TRTC was one of my top watches today as it was the most liquid, and I wanted to short into further extension. Anything on the OTC market I'd consider manipulated, maybe a bit of a blanket statement but that mentality has always helped me! So yeah, there is still opportunity out there, it's just not quite on the same level as back when we had these guys who could produce 50%+ gains just by sending out an email

      Delete
    4. Ok, cool thank you. Had TRTC on my list today aswell but for a potential buy. Im not trading pennystocks yet anyway just observing how my watchlist picks behave.

Iam currently doing an internship in an investmentbank so i have no time and not allowed to trade beside work. As soon as im done in feb i start trading fulltime. Until then i keep studying as much as i can, sign up for promotions, track them and open an acc with ETrade cause IB where im currently at has no level || for otcs.

I keep following you on twitter and reading your blog.u going to hear from me.

You are a big inspiration and your Story really motivates me. Thanks for that

  8. why would we care about these shady guys without your supposedly independent research post? It should be glaringly obvious to anyone with a pair of eyes that you are affiliated with them and should be regarded as a promoter, too.

    1. One my most received questions is "what promoters do you follow" and I finally find one with some interesting connections and get shit for it? lol you really don't get it dude... it would be one thing if I was telling people to buy their picks, but all I'm saying is let's watch and see where they go from here

    2. fuck this guy. keep the free info comin tim. i need it. more people need it than people who are too dumb to just shut the fuck up and learn something.

  9. and just to be clear onedaytradeleft which is glaringly obvious that you have less than 25k. if anyone with a pair of eyes reads this, they would understand that this guy right here is ultimately saying NOT to buy it. pull those glasses out bud

  10. Just want to say thank you for the useful info Tim appreciate all that you do. I LOVE your success story.

As a full time trader since 2010 the ONLY 2 promoters I would touch are StockTips.com and The NEW BestDamnPennyStocks.com Those are the ONLY 2 promoters that can bring 1M+ vol day 1 and keep things interesting. BDPS goes out this Weds 11/12 and StockTips is any day now as well. Everything else is garbage. I hope these 2 succeed to keep OTC's alive. Are you playing them?

BTW fwiw I was spammed as well from Bestamericanstocks and the elite one. Best Regards and keep up the good work.

    1. I hope to nail stocktips, but they always make it difficult. BDPS is far less interesting to me, I don't think they've had a successful pick in quite some time. These new guys so far are pretty unimpressive in my opinion since volume is dismal, we'll see if they improve as they go I guess

      Delete
  11. Yeah brother we'll see what happens.

I'm going to try to nail StockTips too. Last few picks have just seemed "Too Easy" but they always are impressive.

When stuff gets too easy I get shook as i always remember SVEN and RARS when peeps get too comfortable.

As far as BDPS their teaser said last pick that did "1.6m" in vol was just a demo for them to test 50% of their newly acquired list and that they had 65k new members and the remainder of their list. I wonder how that is going to go as I DID see a bunch of adsonar and adblade ads up for them around July and August. Either way StockTips is the king for now with BD on watch.

I just miss the old days of Crazy run ups bro. Good for everyone, especially smaller accounts to build.

  14. 3%, 6%, 9% gains everyday do nothing for my small account but pay broker fees. What happened to the 120%, 249% etc. gains from "Bull Trends" and "Penny Stock Crew" back in Sept. Only time I see gains of 30%, 40%, 50% are on gap ups from previous close then all we get is 2% more followed by a drop back down to previous close range,, how can I beat this scam? Bull Trends is letting me down, these gaps by others are killing me

    ReplyDelete

    1. Right that's exactly the problem - no good promoters left besides Stocktips. I would advise don't try to play the other crap - you're right longing those aren't a recipe for success

  16. Seems like the safest way to play these is to buy in pre-market and sell on first spike like you Tim! Some brokers don't allow pre-market on OTC so be careful guys. Tim, would you say it's too late to buy in after it already gaps up at the open?

Also, nice connections. If APS comes back that would be amazing. Stocktips got a nice pump on $ECRY, but it would be nice to see a huge gain like a few years ago. So long as stocktips is here I am happy though, they just need to give out picks more often.

    1. It's not always too late - chasing a gap is always more risky but keep in mind ECRY opened around .27 and still made it to .39 - so there was opportunity there. It really boils down to how good you are at reading level 2, and if you can recognize if an opening spike attempt is getting stuffed and get out before momentum turns

  19. Best Damn Penny Stocks pick coming Tuesday! This post says that they died.. are these the same BDPS as before?

I wonder if they still have the subscriber base to really move the stock. The editor said to expect "two very good days" and at least 30-50% off the gates. Of course you can't believe what these people say and wait for the short, but it would be nice to play both sides.

I wonder if this is BDPS that caused huge run ups before though

  22. Man, that is a ton of websites to have potentially being run by the same people. I never realized that the world penny stock newsletters became so intricate until seeing all of this. A few times, I've noticed that the same 2 or 3 newsletters may be run by the same people but when it gets to being 16, or even more, I feel like that's just being deliberately deceptive. That shouldn't even be allowed.
I've been following along with Penny Stock Dream for a while and a few others but reading this post, if that is potentially one group, I can't imagine how out of the know I am with the whole business of penny stock picks at this point because if one groupmay run those many, there are probably hundreds or even thousands of groups out there, which just goes to show your level of patience and drive to find the good ones. I had noticed that the big groups going down really did bring an all around slowdown to the penny stock market, just as you did. Hopefully it picks back up to the way it used to be.

  25. Hey All glad to see this blog, I am new to the trading scene , and got spammed by bestamericanstocks.com and the 1st week it said buy GLRKF at .50 its about to break out and could soar to as high as 10.00 a share, because they found uranium on a property they aquired, then a week later it said GLRKF just aquired property that they found billions in copper on, so I said to my self what the hell I'll make a small investment so I spent 10 bucks on it, told my self heck its like a couple lottery tickets, I can afford a small loss if it fails, a week later the stock plumeted to 20 cents, I learned to do better research, but i did find out this company did aquire these properties so maybe the stock may be worth hanging onto, gonna hang onto it anyway, it would cost me more to sell it than its worth lmao

  26. hmmm.. these new promoters (finestpennystocks, etc.) release their new pick Tuesday Jan. 20th, after having built a base w/ GLRKF and MEDA.. coincidentally, the "new" awesomepennystocks is also releasing their first pick Tuesday Jan. 20th.. I believe these will be one in the same, I believe it will be more successful than MEDA, and I also believe this was very good execution by the promoters to re-establish the APS name.. just as impressive is Tim G. nailing this

Is the OTC market still profitable for me with only 3000 dollar to my name and only Stocks tips for promotions? Or do you've another strategy for trading the OTC market in 2015 ? I saw that you trade more listed stocks these days, what is difference between them ? Can you play them with same kind of strategies?
